E-MailCarus Consilium Sachsen GmbH, Caritasverband Görlitz and Lebenshaus e.V. convey and train honorary patron, who accompany young families and assist them with questions related to the health and social development of children in the important first three years of life.
Launched in 2011, the prevention project is sponsored by the Saxon State Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Cohesion. Since then, the "Family Health Guardians" project, coordinated by Carus Consilium Sachsen GmbH, has been very successful in Dresden and the surrounding area. The cooperation partner is the University Centre for Paediatrics and Gynaecology of the UKD.
Since March 2017, the Family Health Guardians have therefore been increasingly active and positioned in the region of Eastern Saxony. The region of Lichtenstein/Sa. and Görlitz have been added as further locations.
The Saxon Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Cohesion supports three regions financially.
The focus of the work is on using trained, honorary family health patrons. The training curriculum includes seminars on child health care, first aid, nutrition, dental health and language development. In addition, patrons assist young families in dealing with the authorities and give advice on childcare or age-appropriate leisure activities.
Mothers and fathers of children aged zero to three from the city of Dresden and the surrounding area can use a family patron. Participation is voluntary and free of charge.
