E-MailAn increasing number of children and adolescents with mental health disorders or behavioral problems are facing crisis situations. To improve the options for their treatment and care, a cooperation agreement was signed on April 26 at Großschweidnitz Hospital for the KJP (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) pilot project. The project aims to strengthen psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care for children and adolescents in a model region with a rural character.
In addition to the Ministry of Social Affairs, represented by Großschweidnitz Hospital, the project involves Carus Consilium Sachsen GmbH, Dresden University Hospital (UKD), and the Görlitz district. The primary goal is to establish a network of various institutions and to further develop telemedical support for rural areas. Görlitz was chosen as the pilot region for this initiative.
State Secretary Dagmar Neukirch attended the kick-off event and stated:
"I welcome the KJP pilot project, which aims to enhance psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care for children and adolescents in the Görlitz district. As a cooperation partner, the Saxon Hospital plays a key role in inpatient care for child and adolescent psychiatry and is an integral part of the region. As a state-run institution, SHA is also an attractive employer and actively supports such collaborations."
The 'KJP pilot project' is scheduled to run until the end of 2024 and is financed through the state budget of the Free State of Saxony.
