Development of a virtual world for neuropsychological diagnostics and therapy of cognitive functions

Since January 2020, Dresden experts have been working on the development of a virtual world for neuropsychological diagnostics and therapy of cognitive functions.

The partners Carus Consilium Sachsen (CCS) GmbH, University Hospital Dresden Carl Gustav Carus and Medicalsyn GmbH intend to use a "virtual reality" (VR) environment to enable neuropsychological diagnostics relevant to everyday life for patients from childhood to adulthood (e.g. attention functions, memory functions, planning thinking). In both areas, i.e. diagnostics and training, the individual requirements of the patient (e.g. at school or at work) should be better taken into account. In this way, a reliable test result is obtained in a credible, realistic environment without endangering the patient. Thus a personalized therapy is possible.

The project is funded by ERDF.
